Aldingbourne Country Centre, Blackmill Lane, Norton, Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 0JP

Aldingbourne Trust is a local charity that helps people with learning disabilities to have the same opportunities as everyone else to live independent lives. We are very proud to have just opened our 3 storey conference facility based at the Country Centre It has been funded by our own efforts and includes; a conference centre for 100 people, a new reception, shop, WC’s and changing facilities, a new café for visitors and staff offices.

This building will enable us to continue their support of local businesses, communities and the people we support to develop their skills and lead an independent life.

We have 2 new conference rooms in our beautiful new building available to hire.

Our Quarry conference room holds up to 90 delegates and our smaller meeting room holds up to 12 delegates.

The conference facilities are amazing. With press touch screens, hearing loops, smart screens, sound system, conference call facilities to name just a few. A spectacular part of the main conference room is the acoustic ceiling. This will dampen ambient noises and give a real feeling of space.

Some of the amazing features in our new conference rooms include:
• HD Projector & Large Screen
• Lectern (Speaking Platform)
• Microphone System
• High Quality Hearing Loop
• Large Smart Touch Screen TV
• High Quality Sound System
• Air Con
• Wheelchair Friendly
• Complimentary on-site parking
• Catering Packages available

One of the Trust’s values is to have fun and from a suggestion from the people we support, a spiral slide has been fitted from the first floor to the ground floor.

We have really thought about the environment whilst planning the new building. Recycled tyres have been used in the decking out of the front of the building and on the bridges.

The Biomass boiler that runs from waste wood the Wood Recycling team have collected provides underfloor heating and hot water. The biomass unit for the building is 50% smaller than the one they currently use to heat the main building and projects due to the highly efficient construction and insulation of the new building. We are making the most of the wet days as rainwater is being harvested which will provide water to flush the toilets and roof mounted solar panels feed electricity into the grid – so the sunnier the summer the better.

As the Trust support adults with learning disabilities – we know how important it is for families to be able to enjoy a great day out. Over a 1/4 million people need “Changing Places” toilets to enable them to get out and about and enjoy the day-to-day activities many of us take for granted so in the new building there will be changing facilities that anyone with a disability can use. Changing Places toilets provide:

• A height adjustable changing bench
• A tracking hoist system
• Adequate space in the changing area for the disabled person and up to two carers
• A centrally placed toilet with room either side for the carers
• A screen or curtain to allow the disabled person and carer some privacy
• A non-slip floor

As well as all the incredible things the conference facilities will have on offer – you must not forget the new Café, Reception and Shop. Items will be stocked in the shop from local crafters, so we are bringing the community together too.

Need a break from your meeting? Complimentary to your visit you can enjoy visiting the farm, indoor slide, woodland walk, maze and all our social enterprises.

So if you are looking to holding a meeting, enjoy a great day out and support a local charity – the Aldingbourne Country Centre is surely the place to be.
