The University of Central Lancashire is an international University tracing its roots back to 1828 and leading the way in modern learning today.

We’ve spent £200 million on transforming our Preston Campus to give it a world-class makeover. This includes the University Square, our modern, accessible outdoor venue with capacity for live music, sporting and corporate events. At over 2000m² it holds up to 4000 people (dependent on event set-up), with data and power infrastructure and a premises licence. Foster Square, our medium sized outdoor space, is approx. 1000m2 with capacity of up to 2000 people (dependant on event set-up). For smaller outdoor events, our Rooftop Terrace overlooking Preston is ideal for summer parties and corporate events with a capacity of up to 120 people.

With a range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities at Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre and the UCLan Sports Arena, we are well equipped to cater for a variety of sports activities. Our on-site gym also offers the chance to add fitness classes and delegate access to your event programme (dependant on venue capacity).

Our conferencing facilities and meeting rooms offer a variety of event spaces with presentation facilities. We have a range of lecture theatres with capacities between 36 and 472 and meeting rooms from 1 to 120 people. Room layouts can be changed to suit your needs. In addition to meeting spaces, we also offer hot desking for SMEs, and spaces for day-to-day working and business development. As a university, we also have specialist spaces, from laboratories, clinics and training areas such as our crime scene flats and moot courtroom available to hire.

All of our spaces are available for filming, and we will work with you to find a date that works around the University teaching timetable, with the best availability between May and August.

The University Catering Team can provide a range of options suitable for any event. We offer day delegate packages and can tailor the event menu to meet your requirements. We also regularly work with a range of external caterers, providing outdoor vendors, VIP options and themed menus to really make your event stand out.

Preston City Campus is easily accessible via rail, bus and bike. Preston Railway Station is on the West Coast mainline and just over 2 hours from London, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Manchester Airport links with a direct train to Preston. Preston Railway Station is a 10-minute walk or 2-minute taxi ride from campus. We have parking available on-campus (dependant on availability), and there is a large public car park nearby.

We regularly work with a range of local hotels and can support you with block bookings for your guests. We have group rates in place with some hotels and we are happy to discuss options with others.
