PenniBlack delights guests with Harvest Moon concept dining launch at Kachette

Culinary concept caterer PenniBlack launched its Autumn and Winter concept at Shoreditch hot spot Kachette, on Tuesday. A hundred corporate bookers and event agents from firms including Orange, Sugar & Rind and Snook were immersed in a sensory experience from the moment they stepped into the venue.  Enveloped in Harvest Moonlight, created by Halo Lighting, guests were offered a choice of the delectable ‘Autumn Orchard Fizz’ mocktail, or the whisky based ‘Honey Loves Pit,’ the English sparkling based ‘Kent 75’ or a refreshing ‘Cucumber Martini.’ Smokey aroma bubbles were added at guests’ request adding to the magical nature of the night. A QR code led guests to the menu of delicacies served by waiting staff attired in grey collarless shirts and simple makeup offering corn chowder in a crusty charcoal loaf with corn ribs, pumpkin risotto, popcorn cauli with deep fried olives and as a sweet treat farmer Macdonald’s apple pie with a honey mead shot all served on Ya Hire’s divinely decorated platters with autumnal leaves.Awaiting guests in the right arch were several Harvest Moon Bounty Boards groaning with smokey boar bao buns with apple sauce and crackling pots, failed harvest charcoal buns with smoked chicken, micro rocket and lemon and chive mayo and pumpkin and goats cheese half-moon pasties, to name but three. Against a background of hooting owls, crying wolves and violinist supremo Matthew Glossop playing classical Vivaldi’s Autumn, and other pieces, beautifully interspersed with music from DJ Mike Roberts.Lucinda Baldwin from Orange Events said “It’s such a magical concept, PenniBlack has really delivered. The food, drinks, styling and music choice are all uniquely distinctive. I feel I’ve been transported into another world. This isn’t just a showcase it’s a PenniBlack showcase.”Culinary concept creator and PenniBlack CEO said “I wanted to show our guests how PenniBlack has matured. It’s not just theming, it’s about a whole concept which takes events to the next level. I’m really happy with how it was received and the lovely comments I’ve had both personally and on social media.”As a final hurrah PenniBlack and Halo Lighting are offering a 10% discount to anyone who books an event for 2025 by the end of October.Charlotte finished by saying “We couldn’t have done it without our collaborators and a big thank you goes to all of them: Halo Lighting, Studio 68B, Bloomsbury Event Group, Ya Hire, Big Wednesday PR, Let’s Grow and Kershaw Partners.”

East London’s hottest new venue Riverside East, to Join the Lime Venue Portfolio

Lime Venue Portfolio has announced the addition of Riverside East to its group of venues. The stylish events space is situated centrally within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, adjacent to the ArcelorMittal Orbit and slide, the London Aquatic Centre, Westfield Stratford shopping centre, and the London Stadium, and is operated by the portfolio’s award-winning bar and event specialist, Peppermint Events, who have also overseen a transformation of the 100 - 2000 capacity venue. Riverside East will open in the Spring after a multimillion-pound refurbishment and Lime Venue Portfolio has been bought in to add value to the venue’s meetings and events proposition, exposing it to the thousands of organisers looking for London based venues. The space is ideal for corporate events, dinners, and brand activations, with the recent investment including the creation of a stunning rooftop terrace with panoramic views over east London, complete with a 260-cover restaurant “The Terrace”, “The Café” a breakfast/brunch/lunch venue on the ground floor with freshly baked bread, local London coffee, craft beers and cocktails. The venue also includes a brand new dedicated multi-use outdoor space “The Yard” boasting the best of London’s Street Food, Big screens and sun-drenched seating for up to 500. Riverside East has a keen sustainability strategy – working with local sustainable partners and a lo-waste, hyper seasonal menu with plant-forward approach. The venue has also been confirmed as the official Welcome Reception partner for The Meetings Show, underlining its support for the meetings and events industry. The reception, that takes place the evening before the main show will showcase Riverside Easts sustainability credentials, as well as provide a fitting setting for a summer event. Speaking on the announcement, Adam Hempenstall, Founder and Director, Peppermint, commented. “We are finally seeing our vision come to life at Riverside East and we now have a contemporary and stylish space which reflects the food, culture, and lifestyle of this part of East London. It’s a community space and we already feel part of the family. It’s perfect for events of all types and we’re looking forward to working with Lime Venue Portfolio to launch it to the events industry for what could be an awesome summer and beyond.” Jo Austin, Sales Director, Lime Venue Portfolio, added: “This is exactly the sort of event space that we want in our portfolio. It’s a testament to the creativity of Peppermint, and the way they can breathe new life into these concepts. It’s a perfect summer venue as it has that stunning terrace view and some brilliant outdoor options. We can’t wait to bring it to our customers, they’ll love it.” At the centre of the development of Riverside East has been its commitment to sustainable practices and eco-friendly initiatives. The venue prioritises sustainability in its design, operations, and food and drink whilst also working with regional suppliers and manufacturers.
