Emily Baker, Church House Westminster
Church House Westminster has appointed Emily Baker to the position of Business Development Manager.
Emily has worked at the central London venue for five years, and has extensive industry experience having previously worked at Altitude London and agencies such as Corporate Venue Solutions and Venues Reservations.
Her career with Church House Westminster began in 2011 as an Event Coordinator. Three years later, she was promoted to Senior Events Coordinator and since then has been looking after some of the venue’s biggest events. Continue reading

Our talented Event Sales Coordinator, Kristina Jefremova has decided to continue her studies and from September she will return to the good old books and classes at Kingston University. She will be greatly missed but we wish her every success in her future career.
Her successor, Amber Statkeviciute has a strong hospitality background having previously worked at the Ledbury Hotel in London and Sushisamba. After meeting and interviewing several candidates we felt that Amber’s passion and enthusiasm was outstanding, as well as her excellent understanding of the meetings industry and of Food and Beverage. Event Eye has seen direct benefit from their success at The Future of Meetings 2016 – a showcase hosted at The Meetings Show in association with The Meetings Design Institute.
Event Eye is an easy to use event app focused on organising and saving time for meetings and event professionals in their otherwise busy schedules. The app was announced as the winner of the Future of Meetings showcase at The Meetings Show by Event Director Steve Knight. In light of the Pokémon Go phenomenon, Beaumont Estate part of the PH Hotels Collection in Old Windsor, has launched Go Catch’em; a new breakout offering for delegates (AKA Pokémon trainers) attending meetings and conferences at the venue. Enabling delegates to retreat to the outdoors Go Catch’em breakout sessions allow exploration of the Beaumont’s vast grounds whilst at play and provide a fun and invigorating break to the day’s agenda.
Beaumont’s general manager Paul Duggan says: “Pokémon Go is everywhere, played by both children and adults alike it provides a great opportunity to get out and explore in virtual and real time. As part of its wider investment strategy, The Barbican is spending £644,000 refurbishing its Frobisher rooms and Level 4 of the centre as part of a £2.2m development taking place throughout the Centre this summer.
The focus of the Frobisher refurbishment is designed to create an even stronger connection between the Centre’s main conference and meeting facilities and its arts spaces.
“We want to make the facilities on Level 4, including the Frobisher rooms, feel closer to the venue as a whole and strengthen the connection to the arts, for which the Barbican is world famous,” explained Lee Dobson, Head of Event Management at The Barbican. “We undertook research which echoed our own desire to extend the Barbican’s ethos, brand, and design language into the wider building, including the Level 4 and Frobisher spaces. This will be reflected in this work, which highlights the importance of these spaces both for the Barbican, and as a desirable destination for city based clients.” Continue reading

Horseradish and Wales Rally GB
Horseradish, the award winning catering and events division of Chester Race Company is pleased to announce a lucrative three year catering agreement with motorsport giant, Wales Rally GB, worth £350,000.
Horseradish will provide the hospitality offerings at each stage of the event, with bespoke packages including provision of temporary marquee structures, set-up, food and service for over 500 guests each year, beginning in 2016. Leeds welcomes the return of the UK’s largest Teacher Training event
3,000 delegates are joined by leading education and business professionals
For the third year running, Leeds Beckett University and the University of Leeds will host 3,000 delegates to the Teach First Summer Institute which sees their teachers attend a range of training sessions and events from 16 – 30 July.
As the biggest teacher training event in the UK, education charity Teach First will accommodate over 3,000 delegates from their 2015 and 2016 cohorts. The event brings together Teach First participants, university tutors along with education and business leaders across a two week period. Having been held in Leeds for the past three years, the conference has contributed a total investment of £8m to the city. Continue reading
