Chief Of The General Staff & Head Of The Army Co-signs Military Covenant at Longleat

General Sir Nick Carter, the professional head of the British Army, officially co-signed the Armed Forces Covenant with Viscount Weymouth at Longleat on Wednesday.

The covenant is a voluntary pledge from businesses, charities and other organisations to show their support for the armed forces community.

Signatories also recognise the value Serving Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to their business and the country.

We have always had a very close link to the military; particularly with the Warminster Garrison and we see the signing of this covenant as an indication of our ongoing support,” said Ceawlin, Viscount Weymouth. Continue reading

This Saturday 24 June sees the fifth annual Jaguar Super Saturday taking place outside Coventry Transport Museum. This year’s FREE event, which runs from 10am until 4.30pm, promises to be the best yet with the biggest and most varied display of iconic Jaguar vehicles so far.

Malcolm Humphries, the event organiser, said: “We have vehicles spanning 92 years represented with three highly notable exhibits: the very first E-Type from 1961, the last ever E-Type from 1974 and a priceless Brough Superior Motorcycle & Sidecar from Jaguar’s earliest history.Continue reading

MOTOR racing continues at Rockingham this weekend (June 17/18) with the first of three back-to-back club race meetings, and it’s the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) which will be kicking-off the action at the Northamptonshire circuit.

With saloons and sports cars on duty, the BRSCC always offers a great programme from the British club racing scene and this event will be no different with a total of 19 races from eight championships over the two days.

Spectators are in for a rare treat this weekend with both the Celtic Speed MINI Cooper Cup Championship and Scottish BMW Championship making the 700-mile round trip from their native Scotland to the heart of England, for their only round to be held outside of Knockhill Circuit. Continue reading

The inaugural Food and Drink Festival at Longleat has gone down extremely well with visitors.

The event, which took place over the weekend, included live cooking masterclasses by former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain and TV Chef James Martin alongside demonstrations by Emma, Viscountess Weymouth and a cake decorating competition.

The festival also featured dozens of stalls selling a huge range of products visitors can sample everything from local wine and cider, to Wiltshire chillies, Cheddar Gorge cheese and Roskilly ice cream. Continue reading

The Ricoh Arena has signed up 18 new exhibitions as the venue looks to break its own events record.

The multi-purpose events venue in Coventry has been successful in securing a large number of exhibitions for the first time covering a wide range of industry sectors.

New exhibitions for 2017 include the Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution Exhibition, the automotive tradeshow Mechanex and Surfex.

The news comes as the events venue – which has 7,500 square metres of conference and exhibition space – prepares to beat the record 777 events it held in 2015/16. Continue reading
