Following a successful inaugural event last year, Shades of Beauty, the exhibition for women of colour by women of colour returns to the Lindley Hall in Westminster this August on Saturday 31st August and Sunday 1st September.
Last year 2,000 attendees came to enjoy over 48 exhibitors including brands that are purely on-line based and got involved with 10 panel discussions with 57 speakers and 14 interactive workshops. There was also live entertainment.
Organised by SellFluent, the first event achieved over 1.5 million impressions and coverage in national and regional media. BBC News reported “We are at the UK’s first Black Beautycon!”
Sue Omar from the Evening Standard said, “women of colour are finally being seen, heard and celebrated on the main stage.”
Co-founder and organiser Christina Adesina said “Shades of Beauty LIVE is a celebration of individualism and promotes the idea that there is no one way to be black. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. We had a fantastic first year in the Lindley Hall and are looking forward to a bigger and better show this year.”
Venue sales manager, Royal Horticultural Halls, Lorraine Thorne said “we’re thrilled to be hosting such a pioneering event again. The Halls have a long history of hosting re-defining events and it’s great that Shades of Beauty is such a success.”
