At the heart of the Tate Modern collection, The Photography Gallery (formerly known as the Realisms Gallery) has re-opened on Monday 23 November 2015 following a complete refurbishment and rehang of the collection.
The Photography Gallery is a modern, clean events space, which not only offers guests the unique opportunity to dine alongside the artwork but enjoy a private view of Tate’s permanent collection. This intimate and tranquil gallery can seat up 80 people for dinner or hold receptions for up to 120.
Leeds Irish Housing Event Key note speakers
Well Met Conferencing at Leeds Beckett University hosted a presentation event for city charity, Leeds Irish Health and Homes (LIHH) to mark their national recognition.
The Conferencing Team welcomed the not-for-profit organisation to their iconic Rose Bowl venue to celebrate its award of the Investors in People Gold Standard, which was presented by Irish Ambassador Daniel Mulhall on 10 November 2015.
Around 60 delegates, made up of the charity’s employees, volunteers, sponsors and members of University faculty, attended the afternoon event which was held in one of the flagship venue’s meeting rooms.
Key note speakers included the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Judith Chapman; Ambassador of Ireland to Great Britain, Ambassador Daniel Mulhall; LIHH Chair, Mel Nally; and the Dean of the Faculty of Health & Social Sciences and Pro Vice Chancellor at Leeds Beckett, Professor Ieuan Ellis. On the 29th of September, Gavin and Katie Harvey, two members of Always 4 ur Events (a social enterprise where employability skills are being gained), supported by United Response, spent a day gaining work experience at The Holiday Inn Orwell in Ipswich.
This opportunity of a work experience day came after a successful Casino evening which had been organised by Always 4 ur Events, as Katie and Gavin both said they would love to find out what it would be like to work at a hotel.

The team at Kents Hill Park beat stiff competition to take home the coveted Chef and Food service Champion awards. Overall winning 5 out of the 9 categories at the prestigious CCE Chef’s Challenge 2015.
The challenge saw teams from 9 of the country’s top conference venues go head to head in a cookery and service challenge. The teams were made up of a Chef and a Service Professional. The Chefs had 2hrs 30minutes to produce a three course banqueting meal combining local produce with top cooking skills and techniques. The starter had to include plaice and the main course guinea fowl. This was then served by the Front of House team member to the nine judges, who included Peter Griffiths MBE President and Jim Eaves MIH Chairman of the British Culinary Federation. They had to demonstrate their cocktail making, wine service and food service skills.
Taking up the gauntlet for Kents Hill Park were Nicholas Harry, Head Chef and Paul Mott, Duty Manager. Hours of preparation and work came down to 3 hours of cooking and presentation. The standard of all competitors was very high, making the judges decisions very difficult. Continue reading
30 Euston Square Triumphs At The London Venue Awards
London events venue 30 Euston Square has double the cause for celebration after being recognised in two categories at the inaugural London Venue Awards 2015.
The venue won Best Conference Venue for up to 300 delegates, and Best Board Room, Meeting or AGM Venue, beating off the competition in the two categories in which they were nominated, and making 30 Euston Square the only winners on the night to bring home two awards.
The London Venue Awards are organised by the Global Conference Network (GCN), who also run industry-leading awards programmes including The Conference Awards. Awards were presented across 15 categories following a rigorous judging process carried out by a panel of over 30 industry representatives. Continue reading
Barnett Hill Shortlisted for Top Business Tourism Award
Sundial Group’s Surrey based venue, Barnett Hill, has been shortlisted as a finalist in the Business Tourism category of the 2015/16 Beautiful South Awards.
Organised by Tourism South East, the awards celebrate the very best tourism businesses and experiences in the South East of England.
Recognised for its commitment to Business Tourism, Barnett Hill scooped Silver in the same category last year and went on to win Bronze at the prestigious VisitEngland National Awards in May earlier this year.
The news also comes as Barnett Hill is shortlisted in the Living Wage Champion Awards for becoming the first hotel and conference centre to become Living Wage accredited. Continue reading
