The British Motor Museum’s Collections Centre wins top construction award
The British Motor Museum is delighted to announce that its Collections Centre has won a RICS Award (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) in the Tourism and Leisure category (West Midlands). The RICS Awards, which were announced on Friday 20 May at Aston Villa Football Ground in Birmingham, showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and development in land, property construction and the environment. The Collections Centre, which opened in February, was entered by the main contractors GaillifordTry and beat off strong competition from the Golden Square in Birmingham and Wednesbury Leisure Centre. Cambridge Cottage, one of beautiful Kew Gardens’ most popular venues, has had a stunning refurbishment, offering companies even more style and sophistication for their corporate events. The former royal residence of the Duke of Cambridge, the space is the ideal boutique venue for corporate away days, company parties, or conferences. The venue accommodates up to 80 guests for a seated dinner or 150 standing.
The cottage has been entirely repainted, new lighting has been fitted, and the beautiful wooden flooring has been sanded and varnished.
Well Met welcomed World Challenge Expeditions for their 2016 Expedition Preparation Conference
World Challenge Expeditions, the leading provider of life-changing student-led expeditions, brought their Expedition Preparation Conference (EPC) to Leeds Beckett University today, Sunday 15th May 2016. Well Met, the conference office for the University, organised the key one-day event which saw around 130 School Leaders, Exhibition Leaders and Assistants come together to receive support and preparation in anticipation of forthcoming expeditions.
The Rose Bowl’s flexible spaces allowed the team to set up Destination Sessions which provided the delegates with an opportunity to experience their expedition destinations, with local food and cultural experiences. These sessions enabled delegates to gain insight into their upcoming expedition and understand their itineraries to a confident level. In addition, there was a session led by Cormac Davey, World Challenge’s Project Specialist, which focussed on how to facilitate a successful project, the role of a leader and the initiatives they are working on to enable a successful expedition. Well Met host VIP Triathlon Event
Well Met, the conference office for Leeds Beckett University, had the honour of hosting some of the world’s best Triathlete’s today, Friday 6 May 2016, in anticipation of the inaugural Columbia Threadneedle World Triathlon Leeds, on 11 – 12 June 2016. The regional client and media event was held to raise awareness of the World Triathlon in Leeds and provided a platform for triathletes to share experiences and advice ahead of the triathlon.
Hosted at Leeds Beckett University’s Old Broadcasting House building, this exclusive event welcomed world-class triathletes: Alistair Brownlee MBE, Olympic Gold medallist and graduate of Leeds Beckett University, Jonny Brownlee Olympic Bronze medallist & Non Stanford 2013 ITU World Triathlon Champion. Jack Buckner, CEO of the British Triathlon Federation and Alison Jefferis, Head of Corporate Affairs and Columbia Threadneedle Investments, were guest speakers at the event, along with Jonathan Edwards CBE, as host.
